Involver's growth has led us to opening a new development office in Austin in addition to expanding our San Francisco headquarters (relocation offered).



GENERAL



As a software engineer at Involver you design and develop computer software solutions to support a range of Internet-based applications. You apply the principles and techniques of model/view/controller frameworks, mathematical analysis, database design and object oriented programming to the architecture, development, testing, and evaluation of scalable and maintainable web-based software solutions.



CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



    * Build scalable solutions that can handle extensive growth in user load

    * Customize user experiences for major brands

    * Implement the infrastructure required to import hundreds of thousands of pieces of content from different external sources every day

    * Investigate new APIs from content providers such as Facebook before they become public

    * Use document-oriented databases in order to achieve data scale

    * Manage a large cloud computing infrastructure (on Amazon Web Services)

    * Build engaging, dynamic, and interactive application user experiences for connecting brands and people

    * Coordinate directly with individuals at Fortune 500 companies to define and implement new features

    * Ensure reliability, and continued scalability of the Involver application platform for its millions of users



SKILLS



    * You have a love of computers, software engineering, architecture design, and application development. You consider solving computer science and engineering problems your craft, and are always seeking to hone your skills.

    * You are mathematical in your approach to problems and are highly analytical.

    * You enjoy applying science & technological solutions to B2B-related problems.

    * You are independent and driven. You will be given areas to manage, and need to be able to do it without close supervision.

    * You have at least 3-5 years of professional experience in software development.

    * Languages: Ruby/Python, Java

    * Database: MySQL

    * Operations: Capistrano, Amazon EC2

    * MVC Frameworks: Rails/Django/CakePHP

    * Source Control: Git/SVN



ABILITIES



    * Ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    * Ability to produce enterprise grade software solutions

    * Ability to deliver software products that contain full test coverage including behavioral, integration, functional, and/or unit testing

    * Ability to write extensible and scalable code using conventional best practices in Ruby and Java
