Hi,

My name is Boris Portman, and I have a great opportunity for a Lead Software Engineer for a startup company in Austin to architect and build an e-commerce / auction site selling high end wines.


The business is already highly successful and the business model has been proven, and is doing extremely well in the current economy.  


The company has a working e-Commerce site with PHP on Linux, and they are looking to rearchitect it to Ruby on Rails, adding in social networking and other Web 2.0 types of things.  The right candidate needs to have experience building high-traffic B2C sites and an entrepreneurial spirit.  Compensation will include cash and significant equity.


The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in implementing high-scale web sites with languages such as Ruby on Rails, PHP, HTML, CSS, SQL and e-commerce technologies for shopping carts (e.g., OSCommerce), credit card / paypal transactions, order tracking, etc.  Experience working with both on and off-shore development is a nice to have.  Solid understanding of OO principles and a CS degree from a top school is also preferred.
