A client of ours in Austin is looking for a Ruby on Rails Developer for a permanent opportunity.

A Next Generation Enterprise operates on demand - 
both in responding to its customers and in assembling and deploying its resources. 

Our client's Applications Team seeks a creative, flexible, experienced individual to help grow the Applications business. They supply the core Platform that powers the rapid business growth and require the best talent for that mission. 

 

Your responsibilities and challenges will include: 
-Designing, and implementing a physically-distributed, SOA software system. 
-Constructing, testing and deploying software components for this system in Ruby-on-Rails and/or Java. You will spend no less than 85% of your time in this capacity. This system will have traditional SOA Characteristics. 
-Integrating the core Platform with existing and future SaaS applications. 
-Researching and supporting latest standards concerning Web Services and SOA applications. 
-Collaborating with the Product Management Team defining product features and requirements. 
-Researching and prototyping widget-based user interfaces compatible with MSN Live, iGoogle, Facebook, and others. 


Skills and Experience: 
-6+ years software product engineering, 8-10+ years preferred. 
-Familiarity and paid experience with multiple programming languages required. 
-Experience with SaaS applications or SOA systems a plus. 
-Familarity with Javascript/AJAX client development a plus. 
-Experience with Smalltalk or Python a plus. 
-A Computer Science degree would be handy
