Hi RoR Enthusiasts!

We are seeking a Back-end Developer who is interested in Ruby on Rails  
development and dynamically changing the approach to social and  
professional networking aggregation. This asynchronous platform will  
take advantage of the user’s social graph and visually represent it  
with our rich integrated feature set. We will also begin to use  
OpenID / OpenSocial.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, and skilled web  
developer(s) to add to a highly dynamic team.

Preferable expertise include: Ruby on Rails, dynamic web technologies  
(Javascript/AJAX/CSS), MySQL and web services to assist in the  
development of applications for server and network management, handle  
synchronization of email and calendaring systems, and content  
distribution.

User Interface experience is a PLUS.

You will be involved with the creation and maintenance of cutting-edge  
data-driven applications. As a Back-end Developer, you will be  
collaborating with other developers to refine and then execute  
requirements. While working on projects you will be creating and  
contributing to a rich library of robust, reusable components and  
tools to streamline future development.

Responsibilities:

The position is ideal for an ambitious programmer with a few years of  
experience interested to grow their skills and interface with the  
latest web technologies and back-end systems.

Rapid prototyping and iterations are key.

Immediate projects:

·       Database schema / structure

·       Email integration and syncing with web application (POP/IMAP)  
– using RoR

·       Facebook / MySpace / LinkedIn application for data gathering  
of external contacts



In addition to:

·       Refining the user experience in a social networking platform

·       Designing interaction models, workflows, wireframes, and  
information architectures



General Requirements:

·       Object-oriented programming with design patterns

·       Comfortable in a minimal spec, agile environment



Qualifications and Skills:

• Ruby on Rails (RoR) 1+ years and familiarity with Rails 2.0

• MySQL

• AJAX / Javascript

• Experience dynamically creating and manipulating XML and using AJAX  
toolkits

• HTML, CSS


BS or MS in Computer Science from top tier program

Self-starter with ability to work under pressure and handle multiple  
simultaneous tasks (multi-task guru!)

Passion for building high-quality and web-changing applications
