Title: Sr. Web Developer

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

Overall goal:  Take responsibility over several existing Ruby on Rails
applications (www.aspyr.com <http://www.aspyr.com/> , www.iQuizmaker.com
<http://www.iquizmaker.com/> , and more) as well as collaborate with
artists, game developers, and other wonderfully talented folks in order
to create new or enhance existing web and/or mobile web applications as
well as create internal business applications for internal customers.

 

You will be the sole Ruby on Rails web developer!

 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

*         Creating project plans by gathering and documenting user
requirements

*         Developing using short iterative release cycles while
regularly reporting project status to management

*         Coding using strong and clean documentation habits

*	Troubleshooting and resolving RoR server issues in a production
environment with little to no downtime (Apache, Linux, Mongrel Clusters,
etc) 

 

Requirements: 

 

Must Haves:

*	1+ years developing applications in Ruby on Rails and 2+ years
developing web-based applications 
*	Experience writing database-driven applications 
*	Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience 
*	Excellent CSS/HTML skills 
*	Comfortable in a Linux environment 

 

Desired Skills:

*	JavaScript with AJAX experience 
*	Decent SQL skills 

 

Nice to Haves:

*	Java Development Experience a plus (especially for mobile
devices)  
*	YAML, REST, ERB 
*	SVN or other Code Repository experience 
*	Familiarity with unit testing and bug tracking systems 
*	Any other programming languages (C++, Objective C, RealBasic,
VB/VB.NET, C#, etc)
*	Experience with Amazon's S3 service (nice plus!)
